On Friday, we witnessed Rs. 3.55 crores in box-office earnings; which is the stuff that legends are made of. These numbers go down as a testament to what can happen when great minds work together towards a common goal. They show us where there’s a will, there’s always a way; no matter how much it may seem impossible or unattainable today. These numbers show us just how much hope there truly is for tomorrow – for filmmaking and film consumption alike.
The Kashmir Files is off to a phenomenal start and new words will need to be found in order to keep track of its steady progression. On Tuesday, 18 crore rupees were raked in while Wednesday saw the sum rise over twenty million rupees. And that was only after three days! What more could anyone want? More importantly, the public love was evident – never before had such huge numbers been seen during an average week (rather than a holiday), which suggested just how popular it really was.
Ordinarily, major films would slow down on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays so as to find momentum again on Saturdays or Sundays. Not here though! The film continued at breakneck speed without looking back; and with little else known about this pattern’s future prospects other than that it would most likely maintain these rates through Friday and Saturday at least until reaching near thirty million rupees (or even forty!) within six days.
