After the first week of release, The Kashmir Files earned approximately Rs. 97.30 crores through tickets sold and even beat out many industry expectations. It began with only 3.55 crores on its opening day – but 18.05 crores came in on it’s seventh day – five times what they were earning before! And this is not just comparing it to other movies that happen to start out at a similar price point (which would normally be around 1 crore), but also Vivek Agnihotri’s previous movie, The Tashkent Files. With an earning lifetime value of Rs. 17.21 crores – this film has already exceeded that amount during the last three days since Tuesday – which speaks volumes about how successful it is so far! A remarkable trend when you take into account all of these numbers. One can’t recall anything seen like this before; unheard or unannounced by anyone else for decades now!
The film is set to experience tremendous growth this weekend due to Holi celebrations, and the days leading up to it. This could mean more than Rs. 150 crores would be made- with a possibility of at least Rs. 175 crores being made as well by the end of the second weekdays. After that point, there will be no stopping us from breaking through all sorts of thresholds; eventually leading us right into the 200 Crore Club – where we’ll stay for awhile afterwards.
