The Kashmir Files’ unstoppable ticket sales continue to grow, increasing for every single day since it was released last Friday. With increased earnings of Rs. 3.55 crores on the opening day and then reaching Rs.19 crores Day 6 – these numbers are unprecedented and astounding all at once! By the time Sunday rolled around, The Kashmir Files had already drawn in a whopping total worth of Rs 97.30 crores while simultaneously breaking several records set just last year by other movies during their respective first weeks in theaters nationwide!
This week, the box office’s focus lies on the just-released The Kashmir Files. With an opening weekend collection of 97.30 crore, the film ranks as one of the top grossing releases among others released after contagion. Surprisingly though, it was only able to beat other recent releases like Sooryavanshi (122 cr) and 83 (71.87 cr). Another disappointment came from last year’s multi-starrer Gangubai Kathiawadi (68.93 crores), who only managed Rs 69 crore less than The Kashmir Files’ impressive show over five days – despite releasing two years earlier!
On a brighter note though, advance estimates state that The Kashmir Files might just break records with its 102-crore (US$16 million) prediction over three weeks through aggressive marketing tactics and a conscious public during leadup events; bolstered by major moviegoers looking for clean cinema this summer amidst stringent theatrical tax laws driving prices up.
