According to figures released today, the film Dabangg 3 collected Rs. 81.15 crores in its opening weekend at theaters across India. Though this number sounds lower than usual for a Salman Khan movie given his past successes, it is still respectable given most movies do not make such earnings in their first three days of release.
On Sunday, the film earned Rs. 31.90 crores more than what it had been earning on Friday and Saturday – a significant improvement to say the least. With such a wide distribution, however, it’s possible that Prabhudeva’s latest blockbuster might have earned even more if there weren’t protests taking place in some areas across India. Despite all this though, there were plenty of things going for Dabangg 3 which made it an undeniably successful movie; from its tight narrative and engaging story lines to its great music and less than 2-hour run time – as well as its overall entertainment factor for audiences worldwide
Nonetheless, the film benefits for the fact that there is another big day coming up- Christmas. And seeing as how it falls smack dab in the middle of Wednesday, it should help push sales to better numbers yet again. If it reaches around Rs. 20 crores this time, the movie will finish out December pretty nicely!
