Just when it seemed that things were looking up for Dabangg 3 – with a collection of Rs. 31.90 crores in just one day – what followed next was unexpected. On Monday, the film earned less than half of its worth at the box office- bringing in just 10.70 crores instead of the ideal 15 crore goal due to diminished footfalls and other factors playing havoc. However, with external factors settling down now (Friday being an exception), there has been an improvement in earnings; earning about 24.50 crores on Friday alone due to other groups rallying behind this third installment of the film series
Despite its impressive opening weekend, the film has only made up 91.85 crores so far; it is one of those rare instances where a Salman Khan starring movie did not break the 100 crore mark within 4 days post release. It should happen today though and thankfully Christmas falls tomorrow which will cause an increase in viewership over the next week or two.
The film which was directed by Prabhudeva will be in the Rs. 115- 120 crore range before the end of its first week release. It will need to reach about Rs. 150 crores for it to even come close to matching Dabangg 2’s success in totality.
