Malang still continues to generate the most amount of traffic among all competing movies; earning Rs. 4.04 crores from Monday alone. If the film can maintain its present position, it will be sufficient for Mohit Suri’s project- since people are showing interest in it. So far the movie has brought in Rs. 29.40 crores and is set to reach around Rs. 40 crores by next weekend; when comparing to Tanhaji – The Unsung Warrior who will end up finishing at about Rs 270 crores; having already made Rs 267 crore so far (after Monday). It has been proved that Ajay Devgn starrer has performed well even on weekdays while maintaining an average of around 70 lakhs each day this entire past week too- making it very likely they’ll continue doing so till Thursday ends up concluding.
This was expected for Jawaani Jaaneman as it enters its third week. The film took in only Rs. 0.68 crores on Monday, which means it will end up doing worse than Tanhaji – The Unsung Warrior during the weekdays. It appears that this Saif Ali Khan starrer will soon exhaust its theatrical audience. As of now, the movie has made Rs 25.18 crores*.
On the other hand, Shikara is already heading out fast; the film took in mere rs 0.6 crores* on Monday – quite low compared to Friday’s Rs 1 crore*. With each passing day, it becomes clear that Shikara won’t survive past this first weekend – if you take into account how less this movie shows signs of increasing numbers or earning more money. After three days, its total stands at Rs 5.55 crore*, barely enough to reach a grand total of Rs 7 crore*.
*Estimates. Final numbers awaited
