In just 15 days, the Amar Kaushik directed movie Bala has reached a remarkable milestone: the Rs. 100 Crore Club! On its third Friday, it grossed an impressive Rs. 1.35 crores, pushing its total collection to Rs. 100.15 crores and solidifying its place among cinematic history.
There has been a sensible drop from Thursday’s [Rs. 1.80 crores] to Friday’s [Rs. 1.35 crores], leaving room for an advantageous rebound today and tomorrow. Despite this, the family movie has performed well on weekends and it is anticipated that this upcoming weekend will see a repeat of the same trend.
Bala is now third century for Ayushmann Khurranna in his last four releases. After Badhaai Ho and Dream Girl, now Bala has crossed the 100 crores mark as well, while Article 15 which released intermittently was a good critical as well as commercial success too. For Bhumi Pednekar too, this is her second Rs. 100 Crore Club film after Toilet – Ek Prem Katha. As for Yami Gautam, 2019 has been going quite good for her as Uri – The Surgical Strike too had entered Rs. 200 Crore Club. Before that, Kaabil had scored a century.
Dinesh Vijan and Amar Kaushik have been experiencing quite a joyous feeling after their back-to-back blockbuster successes; last year’s Stree and this year’s Luka Chuppi, which just missed out on the hundred crore mark by finishing at 95 crores.
