On weekdays, Marjaavaan’s box office numbers held strong. However, its second Friday collections dropped significantly to Rs. 1.09 crore despite the film reducing screens with the release of Pagalpanti. It was projected that at least Rs. 1.25 crore would be brought in on Thursday – yet only Rs. 2.53 crores came in instead.
With a current box office revenue of Rs. 38.96 crores, it is expected that the Milap Zaveri-directed film will surpass the Rs. 40 crore mark by the end of today. Originally, the plan was to hit closer to the Rs. 50 crore benchmark within the second weekend; however, if there is enough of an uptick today and tomorrow, that goal could still be accomplished by week’s end.
The team of Sidharth Malhotra, Riteish Deshmukh, Tara Sutaria and Rakul Preet Singh worked hard for their film Marjaavaan to be a success. Though not performing as expected in the box office, it is commendable that the movie managed to reach this far. Everyone involved with the production will now be eagerly awaiting the outcome of their next project.
