Marjaavaan had a successful Monday, collecting approximately Rs. 0.80 crores at the box office – slightly less than the Friday’s figure of Rs. 1.09 crores, though a reasonable decline. However, collections have reached lower levels compared to what was expected; ideally it should have maintained a consistent income in the range of one crore throughout its second weekdays as well.
Although Marjaavaan has been playing on a low count of screens, the movie which replaced it, Pagalpanti, has failed to do well at the box office. Consequently, theatres have become quite desolate. Had Marjaavaan played on more screens, this situation could have looked very different.
Directed by Milap Zaveri, the movie has generated a box office total of Rs. 43.72 crores thus far, and it is predicted to exceed Rs. 46 crores when week two ends. However, with Commando 3 coming out the next week, Marjaavaan’s run to Rs. 50 crores will become more competitive as the majority of viewers tend to prefer single screens films like these.
