On the second day of its release, Dabangg 3 earned about Rs 24.50 crore on Friday. The film needs a big boost in order for it to retain momentum; and despite receiving an increase from Thursday, Rs 24.75 crore was still less than what most people had predicted before release – which was Rs 30 crores per day or approximately $48 million USD according to today’s conversion rate. All eyes are set for Sunday to see how the movie performs then – hopefully better than yesterday because if not, this will mean two days of low box office earnings in comparison to initial expectations.
Dabangg 3 has now collected Rs 49.25 crores in two days and this trend shows no sign of slowing down anytime soon. If it continues at the same pace, it will definitely reach an estimated value of around Rs 80 crores over this weekend. Considering Salman Khan is known for smashing box office records with just his presence alone, even without taking into account other external factors that may have contributed to reducing profits by a few rupees – anyone would expect Dabangg 3 to hit a whopping 100 crore rupees mark over this coming weekend.
The good news for the film is that it will not be competing with anything else because there are no other films being released in theaters. This creates the opportunity to gain some much-needed traction and profit before new releases arrive. There are only 5 more days left for this film, which is a small window of time for all profits to accumulate before Good News arrives.
