As anticipated, Dabangg 3 suffered a major decline on the second Friday. This was to be expected given that it ran unsteadily throughout the week with holidays being helpful for its earnings and regular days seeming relatively low. Moreover, due to Good News flooding most screens – especially those in Multiplexes – and earning decent word of mouth from audiences, Dabangg 3 became an unpopular alternative for viewers.
The movie made a net profit of Rs. 2.70 crores after adding up the earnings from Friday alone, and has gathered 124.28 crores overall thus far. With ticket prices going up every day, this movie will likely reach its 140 crore goal soon enough; if not by Saturday night then Sunday evening at the latest – making it Prabhudeva’s biggest success as a director yet! Though this feat was already accomplished by his last film Rowdy Rathore back in 2012, so he’ll need to factor in inflation when comparing numbers from then to now.
Overall, the third installment of Dabangg has been an average affair. Even though it will probably make up to 180+ crore rupees at this point in time, what was initially predicted was a 200 Crore Club film. With that said, there is still a chance Radhe manages to break this record and reach those heights when they release the film on Eid next year – thanks to Salman Khan and Prabhudeva – who will act as directors for this movie.
