Good News has been breaking records. With this unprecedented response, it seems inevitable that the film will hold up exceptionally well on Monday. After all, the quick jump from Friday suggests that there will be little decline at all; which is exactly what happened when Rs. 13.41 crores more were brought in after just one day of additional screening time passed.
Though anything in double digit score would have been good enough, the fact that a number well over ten crores suggests that this Raj Mehta directed film is here to stay. As mentioned in an earlier report, the current season is akin to that of partial holidays and with the film carrying a festive feel – audiences are enticed enough to join the celebrations.
The Karan Johar, Akshay Kumar, and Shashank Khaitan production has already made Rs. 78.40 crores this week alone; however, it can still earn up to another Rs. 10 crore within its allotted time span of four days before the end of this final weekend. Though it’s guaranteed that Akshay Kumar will enter the 100 Crore Club (club for films who have made at least Rs. 100 crores) alongside Kareena Kapoor Khan and Diljit Dosanjh by this time next week – we don’t know what amount of money Kiara Advani will make until Sunday’s last day rolls around which is when all movies are tallied up at once before new releases start again Monday morning (in India).
2019 ended on an upswing with Good News emerging as a successful film and it would be great if 2020 started off on the same note. With Tanhaji – The Unsung Warrior’s release at the start of January, this could happen!
