At the start of its second week in theatres, Good News remains strong after already earning Rs. 180 crores worldwide. Footfall steadily increased from Monday-Friday; reaching a total of Rs.4 crore rupees on Wednesday and Thursday combined. It was also an uncharacteristically busy workweek because there weren’t any holidays; so most people came to see it on weekday days alone!
Additionally, Thursday’s earnings reached 4 crore rupees – which is incredible considering how regularly it was played! Collectively, the film now stands at about 181 crore rupees – which will surpass the lifetime collections for 2.0 (Hindi). It still has many big releases remaining including Housefull 4 – another three weeks or so ought to do it!
Kareena Kapoor Khan is one of India’s most powerful actors. Yet, Bajrangi Bhaijaan was a Salman Khan-Aamir Khan project while 3 Idiots belonged solely to Aamir and his team of collaborators. Good News is different though because both Kareena and Akki share the spotlight equally here. With Diljit Dosanjh and Kiara Advani giving powerhouse performances in Karan Johar and Raj Mehta’s latest venture too, it goes without saying that Good News will be adding another successful notch to this trio’s belt.
