Collecting 3.75 crores on its first day, it is now one of the four top-grossing films for the year so far. However, unlike past releases like Sooryavanshi, which made 26.29 crores (or nearly $4 million) on its first weekend, or Antim – The Final Truth, which made 5 crore ($790 thousand) in only three days, Day One collection for Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui doesn’t come close enough to either release. Films like Satyameva Jayate 2 and Roohi, both make less than 3 crores during their first few days but are still doing well when compared to recent releases like Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui.
Without any competition from other releases or newer releases, Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui is set to do fairly well at the box office. In fact, trade estimates state that given its current rate the movie may even see an opening weekend earnings of about Rs. 18 crore upon completion of its first week!
