Recently released Bunty Aur Babli 2 starring Saif Ali Khan and Rani Mukerji attracted an underwhelming response at the ticket window during its opening weekend. The film’s low box office prospects were further dampened by less-than-enthusiastic reviews, while Sooryavanshi – another recent release – benefited hugely from ecstatic feedback.
However, despite poor word of mouth and scathing reviews, Bunty Aur Babli 2 managed to earn Rs 2 crores in just one Middle Eastern country; the United Arab Emirates (UAE). As opposed to this UAE success story, Sooryavanshi collected a mere Rs 84 lakhs over the same period; despite featuring popular actor Akshay Kumar.
