In an announcement made this morning, Kangana Ranaut said that she will be making a special statement at 6:35 pm today about her upcoming film Thalaivi; which is the biography of Jayalalithaa. A Hollywood trade source told Bollywood Hungama that there will also be a motion teaser poster for its release date unveiled with it. It was also revealed to them by another trade source from within India that the film is scheduled to come out on April 23rd, 2021 and will play in multiple Indian languages around the world.
It’s a pan-India movie and they want to capitalize off of the family audiences during vacations, said an anonymous spokesperson who wished not to reveal his or her identity because Thalaivi team wants to reap benefits off of these vacation periods.
Interestingly, the release date for Thalaivi (which features Tammanah Bhatia) was already scheduled for competition with Aditya Chopra’s upcoming production Bunty Aur Babli 2 (which stars Rani Mukherji). The director of Thalaivi announced it on Tamil Leader J. Jayalalithaa’s birthday which resulted in a clash between the two movies at theatres across India. With so many releases each week, there are many clashing cinematic events occurring all over India – making this the busiest time for cinema ever!
