While it may seem rare for a blockbuster to release during the weekends and still remain in first place among audiences, this is what happened when Ajay Devgn’s Tanhaji – The Unsung Warrior released earlier this year.
The film garnered Rs. 12.58 crores on Sunday, making it the highest earning day yet for this Om Raut directed movie. With only one day left for release and counting, the film has earned a total amount of Rs. 18 crore so far, almost doubling its earnings since yesterday (Rs. 9 crore). This trend is unheard of even when you compare it to Baahubali: The Conclusion – to see Tanhaji- The Unsung Warrior attain these numbers gives me hope that there’s always someone rooting for every underdog story out there.
So far, the overall collections of this period drama stand at Rs. 224.93 crores. A major milestone of Rs. 250 crores would now be surpassed by the end of fourth weekend by the film. Post that even with normal trending, a lifetime total of Rs. 275 crores is on the cards. With such terrific numbers under its belt already, there’s no stopping for this action-adventure blockbuster!
