The beginning of next year is just around the corner and it doesn’t seem like there will be anything worth looking forward to after so many theatricals have shut down due to global outbreaks; even though we still have plenty more coming out before then. The worst part about all this – It looks like all the summer blockbuster movies that were supposed to come out in April won’t be coming out until later on when things are resolved which makes waiting for them unbearable.
This is a look at the movies that were released in India up until now, and what they’ve earned so far. Leading the pack is Ajay Devgn’s film Tanuaji- The Unsung Warrior with 279.55 crores earned. It also beat out Tiger Shroff’s movie Baaghi 3 which only amassed 93.37 crores earned. Other popular releases like Street Dancer 3D (68.28 crores), Subh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan (60.78 crores) and Malang (58.99 crores) all saw less earning than Tanuaji because it was released earlier and gathered momentum throughout its release unlike those releases where there was no consistency or fanfare throughout their release cycle
Though the first quarter of this year’s Bollywood films were impacted by new laws, Tanhaji – The Unsung Warrior leads the list as one of India’s top 11 grossing films ever. Though we’re currently experiencing a nationwide lockdown, it remains to be seen how the second quarter develops without movies in theaters. With predictions stating that moviegoers will need time to return when they come back, most are curious about where things stand now.
