On Monday, both Shubh Mangal Zyada Savdhan and Bhoot Part One – The Haunted Ship experienced a decrease in box office earnings when compared to their receipts on Friday. This could be attributed to the fact that Friday was partially a holiday in honor of Mahashivratri, so a drop was anticipated. Moreover, neither film had made any significant gains over the weekend.
Shubh Mangal Zyada Savdhan dropped by more than 50% compared to Rs. 9.55 crores that it has managed on Friday. The film had anyways seen mixed reviews coming its way, both from critics as well as audiences, and that was further reflected in Monday collections of Rs. 3.87 crores. Ideally, the film should have been in the range of Rs. 5-6 crores for a good first week. So far, the film has collected Rs. 36.53 crores.
Conversely, Bhoot Part One – The Haunted Ship had a predicted retention of more than Rs. 2.32 crores on Monday, as it would have suggested a commendable hold. Despite this, the box–office intake was marginally less at Rs. 2.50 crores, dropping a colossal 50% from Monday’s collection of Rs. 5.10 crores. Till now, the film has achieved an impressive Rs. 18.68 crores in gross profits.
Now it has to be seen how does Tuesday hold as ideally, the numbers shouldn’t drop more than 10% from Monday.
