In 2019, the film Uri – The Surgical Strike achieved a feat of an 11 week box office run, something no other movie has achieved since. The next closest was Tanhaji – The Unsung Warrior with a 10 week run, raking in a total of Rs. 280 crores.
Now Pushpa [Hindi] is at the same levels already, what with its total standing at Rs. 107.60 crores* after its tenth weekend. The film will of course complete a 10 week run and then most definitely get some screens for its 11th week run as well, despite the arrival of Gangubai Kathiawadi. What has to be seen though is whether it would end up creating a record by stepping into 12th week too, something that even Uri – The Surgical Strike couldn’t manage once it touched Rs. 245.36 crores. If that turns out to be the case, it would be indeed super fantastic.
Meanwhile, the Allu Arjun starrer has already done better than some of the other blockbusters like War and Kabir Singh. Former was of course top heavy and while it did score Rs. 318 crores, there were no more screenings post the eighth week. On the other hand, Kabir Singh was a film that did grow immensely with word of mouth but there too, it just about came close to a 50 day run, what with Rs. 278.24 crores been gathered in 7 weeks.
In terms of its collections, Pushpa [Hindi] is of course the lowest. However, in terms of it being talked about for the longest time, it is indeed coming tops.
