Two big-budget Bollywood movies are coming out in close succession, one on Thursday and the other Friday. Both promos have a similar masala feel with a southern style of filmmaking and moreover have over-the-top drama, dialogues and action that appeal to the elite class. The good news is that both film leads have praised each other’s contributions to Indian cinema; you can see this through Salman Khan’s tweet about John Abraham or vice versa where they talked about how happy they were because their respective films will continue drawing people into theaters. This means there aren’t any hard feelings between them so far which is always nice when two stars who have otherwise pitted against one another end up liking what the other has done enough not to care how much attention they’re being given.
One can only hope that it’s translated into high numbers as well. When Satyameva Jayate was first released back in 2018, it came out on Independence Day and dominated the box office with a huge opening day. Although one can’t expect the same from part two given its release is on an average day while being also on Thursdays – which is usually considered ‘just another movie’ opening day.
So ideally getting anything close to Rs. 6-7 crore would be a decent enough start for Antim The Final Truth (considering there are both Salman Khan posters yet only Aayush Sharma starring in this). If so then its first few days will not go unnoticed given how much attention there seems to be towards Satyameva Jayate 2 now since it just started airing yesterday (which had been releasing for quite some time prior).
