It sounds like the new releases for this Friday will be very profitable. Love Aaj Kal looks promising enough with fans already anticipating what it has to offer from director Imtiaz Ali, fresh off his first venture which featured actors Saif Ali Khan and Deepika Padukone. Meanwhile, leading man Kartik Aaryan will play a dual role and so will actor Saif Ali Khan’s daughter Sara Ali Khan, who is making her Bollywood debut here too; playing opposite newcomer Aarushi Sharma in her first starring role as well. What excites me most about the film concept is its potential longevity even beyond Valentine’s Day weekend; being able to entertain young movie-goers for months on end both at ‘A’ and ‘B’ centers. Furthermore, multiplexes are bound to experience good attendance from people all over India!
All of these factors coming together mean that Love Aaj Kal will undoubtedly make a $10 – $12 million gross within its first week. This is Kartik Aaryan’s third consecutive box office success, having won over audiences with his last three films – Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety, Luka Chuppi, and Pati Patni aur Woh. It also means that Sara Ali Khan will be enjoying her second huge release after Simmba earlier this year.
