Bollywood has been creating a plethora of spectacular films lately, and the audience’s expectation for Panipat is no exception. Director Ashutosh Gowariker is famed for his riveting period movies, such as Lagaan and Jodhaa Akbar. Now, with Panipat, he sets to make it even bigger in scope and opulence than any of its predecessors.
The movie boasts an impressive promotion with Sanjay Dutt joining as the villain and Arjun Kapoor and Kriti Sanon pairing up as protagonists. Although the songs may not be so well received, audiences can look forward to thrilling action sequences and intense drama that are sure to make it a hit at the theater.
At the beginning, Panipat should garner a good response in the range of Rs. 5-6 crores. This movie merits more viewers than this; however, as Pati Patni aur Woh has given it serious competition and splintered audience attention, its success will depend on positive word-of-mouth publicity. Nevertheless, initial reviews of Panipat have been favorable, so it’s expected that families will be present at evening shows in larger numbers.
