The third weekend of JugJugg Jeeyo’s release proved to be a major success, with a gross collection of over Rs. 5 crores. This success is all the more impressive, considering that over the past few weeks, very few newly–released Hindi films have been able to reach this number, even in their opening weekend. Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 has achieved box–office dominance since its release, while JugJugg Jeeyo has been the only other movie to make an impression with its steady stream of patrons, when almost all other movies have failed to find their audiences.
This is especially evident by the extraordinary Rs. 78.48 crore figure garnered by JugJugg Jeeyo. Samrat Prithviraj follows close behind, having earned Rs. 70 crore, whereas Bachchan Pandey brought in the next highest amount at Rs. 50 crore, but that was as early as March. It is quite clear, then, that JugJugg Jeeyo has undoubtedly come out as a triumphant victor, displaying the great state of Bollywood in 2022.
Happily, the theatre business is thriving, with people across the nation attending Hollywood movies. Thor: Love and Thunder is evidence of this, gathering an impressive Rs. 64.80 crores in its extended four-day opening weekend. Even better, the film gained Rs. 18.40 crores on Sunday, outperforming its Rs. 18.20 crores start on Thursday. It’s already proven to be a Superhit, a ray of hope in the current situation where exhibitors and distributors are facing a difficult climate. Remarkably, it is the non-Hindi films that are driving this positive outcome.
