In the past week, the business of Jawaani Jaaneman, Tanhaji – The Unsung Warrior and Street Dancer 3D was distributed among the three movies running concurrently. All the three movies accumulated approximately Rs. 55 crores in total, which is deemed a considerable amount in consideration of the usual attendance at cinemas for an ordinary week. Obviously, movies have started earning higher sums of money nowadays but the fact remains that at least it wasn’t a total dearth at the box office.
Jawaani Jaaneman and Tanhaji – The Unsung Warrior, although in different weeks, earned close amounts at the box office. During the first week, Saif Ali Khan’s flick collected a grand total of Rs. 20.21 crores, while the Ajay Devgn starrer registered a commendable Rs. 20 crores to its overall tally of Rs. 259.52 crores in the fourth week. While the former needs more money to add to its collection, the latter is marching towards its glorious milestone of Rs. 275 crores.
Despite a low second week, Street Dancer 3D was still able to accrue Rs. 14.59 crores. This figure brings the total collection of the film to Rs. 71.36 crores, yet there is still room for improvement. In its third week, the movie has been screened at a number of venues, yet with attendance greatly decreased, there are no realistic hopes for a surge in box office revenue.
