Following a critically panned opening weekend, HIT – The First Case’s box office earnings were absolutely abysmal during the weekdays. After a dismal Friday, the film managed to improve slightly on Saturday; however, Sunday collections were virtually unchanged. It became apparent that Monday would be disastrous for the Rajkummar Rao-starrer, yet it still came as a surprise that the figures could not even reach Rs. 0.75 crores, considering Friday’s collections had already reached Rs. 1.35 crores. Evidently, the film had completely crashed.
The reason why it wasn’t too unexpected when collections continued to drop on Tuesday is due to the reality of today; if a film doesn’t do well, then it will have virtually no chance to recoup and gain any ground. This wasn’t always the case pre–pandemic; in the past, as long as a film was of an acceptable quality, it would at least get the chance to prove itself. That same concept applies to this intriguing crime drama featuring Rajkummar Rao’s amazing performance and nail–biting intensity. Despite this, however, the movie had very little to no attention to begin with and is now in a virtually irredeemable position.
*Estimates. Final numbers awaited
