Despite War’s massive arrival at the theatres across India today, both Dream Girl and Chhichhore were able to hold their own. However, it has resulted in a sharp decline of screens and shows for these films that had seen success up until now; leaving the production team (Ekta Kapoor and Sajid Nadiadwala) somewhat dejected due to an abridged run ahead of them.
On Tuesday, Dream Girl experienced an influx of Rs. 2.25 crores* which puts the overall lifetime collections at a robust Rs. 131.25 crores*. Meanwhile, Chhichhore received an additional Rs. 1.70 crores*, thereby pushing their overall revenue to a noteworthy Rs. 147.80 crores*. Thanks to today being a national holiday, evening and night showings witnessed significant growth in viewers when compared with the previous day’s screenings.
It would be fascinating to witness the amount these two movies bring in today, with War likely having a significant effect on the numbers. Although it might prove challenging, a comeback during the weekend could see their Tuesday score improved upon by Saturday or Sunday; this outcome, should it transpire, would be nothing short of extraordinary.
