Again, he has been dependable for his producers as movie-goers – especially at the single screens and those passionate about the action genre – have shown appreciation towards his latest film. Tuesday further showed that, garnering another Rs. 3.02 crores. The earnings still come close to Friday’s collections of Rs. 4.74 crores, thus confirming its stable performance at the box office.
The commercial success of Commando 3 is largely attributed to the sensible budget management that Vidyut has become renowned for, evident from the critical and financial successes of his previous movie Junglee. This fiscal expertise resulted in lucrative satellite and digital rights of Rs. 20 crore. After recoveries from music (Rs. 2.25 crores), overseas markets (Rs. 1.75 crores) and London subsidy (Rs. 8.50 crores), only Rs. 7.50 crores more needed to be recovered through India theatrical business – an amount that was made over the weekend alone given its impressive box office collection!
As of Monday, the film has earned Rs. 24.77 crores in profits and is nearing the lifetime collection total of Commando 2’s Rs. 25 crore. With this surge in success, it looks set to be Vidyut Jammwal’s most profitable solo starrer by a wide margin.
