Audiences found a plethora of movies to choose from at the local theater on Saturday and it showed in the varied collections for each film running- Malang, Tanhaji- The Unsung Warrior, Shikara, and Jawani Jaaneman. With Malang taking first place by earning Rs. 8.89 crores so far, this is proof that audiences enjoyed what they saw and were more than happy with just how much was given to them for their money’s worth; though it should be said that an amount over 10 crores would have been fantastic too. If nothing else, this statistic proves that there will always be a future for well-thought out creations like these coming out soon enough because people are already lining up for tickets well before they’re released.
As for Tanhaji – The Unsung Warrior, it is heading for a very impressive lifetime total. On Saturday, it jumped by around 100% when compared to Friday collections of Rs. 1.15 crores. The numbers were fantastic at Rs. 2.76 crores and that further indicates how much has the film been loved by audiences! Already, the film has amassed close to 264 crores and will soon reach 273 crore by its end date on May 17th! Meanwhile, both Shikara and Jawaani Jaaneman have shown jumps of 50%. For a small movie like Shikara, a number of Rs. 1.85 crores is actually great enough and now the total has reached Rs. 3 crore already after just one week!
On the contrary, Jawani Janeman too will be at Rs.25 crore before the end of this weekend. It brought in Rs.1.58 crore on Saturday which has brought its total earnings to 22.83 crore.
