Though there were low expectations for the film’s opening day earnings, The Body had other thoughts. With an increase in attendance on Saturday and Sunday despite its dismal start on Friday – it became clear that this movie wasn’t going down without a fight after all. This could be seen from the fact that though it never improved during the weekend, its total earnings still exceeded any predictions of success.
The weekend collection for the movie The Body stands at only Rs. 2 crores, which is disappointing considering it was released on its opening day. Even if this amount were doubled to 4 crores, it would still pale in comparison with most other movies that come out. With no promotions or publicity, there really isn’t much hope left for this box office flop.
The film is now over but with other releases still in theaters, it hardly registers on anyone’s radar. The first weekend was reported at about $3 million dollars and after that there are no screenings whatsoever.
