Last week, the highly–anticipated Tiger Shroff – Hrithik Roshan starrer War, directed by Siddharth Anand, hit theaters and opened to a spectacular reception from audiences. Business has remained booming throughout its initial week of release.
War’s Rs. 28.90 crore box office collection on its first Tuesday was good enough to make it the second highest all-time Tuesday grosser. It might not have beaten Baahubali 2 – The Conclusion, which earned Rs. 30 cr that day, but it outperformed other high profile releases such as Kick (Rs. 28.89 cr), Simmba (Rs. 28.19 cr), Krrish 3 (Rs 26.26 cr), Dangal (Rs 23.09 cr), Sanju (Rs 22.10 cr), Tiger Zinda Hai (Rs 21.60 cr), Bajrangi Bhaijaan (Rs 21.4 cr) and Dhoom 3 (Rs 20,14cr). In this report, we take a look at how War compares with these blockbusters of the past and where it stands among them today.
Trade predictions suggest that War will easily achieve the Rs. 250 cr mark by the end of this week, adding to its remarkable success at the box office which has already crossed Rs. 200 cr.
