On November 9, 2020, Laxmii Akshay Kumar and Kiara Advani premiered on Disney+ Hotstar as theatres were closed in March due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Now that theatres are reopening at 50% capacity in India, some older movies have been put back into cinemas while fewer new ones are released. Laxmii, however, will only be available to view on the streaming platform in India; yet, overseas territories [U.A.E, Australia, New Zealand and Fiji] have limited cinema screenings.
