It is bound to be an exciting time for film enthusiasts as three movies will celebrate new milestones over the next few days – 83, Spider-Man: No Way Home, and Pushpa (Hindi). All three movies are waiting for different achievements in their respective clubs.
Let’s go over this objectively. At the moment, we are looking at two different things – what it deserves and how much money it will make. With an overall score of 3/5 from critics and a promising Rotten Tomatoes rating along with an IMDb score that could very well surpass all other Bollywood films this year, 83 is predicted to be a heavy hitter when it comes to both critical acclaim as well as making back its investment (with little chance of going bankrupt). As for ticket sales however? Let’s just say that right now, chances are not in favor of anyone betting on 83 making up the ranks in the Rs. 150 Crore Club, let alone breaking through into the Rs. 200 Crore Club anytime soon.
As for Spider-Man: No Way Home, it’s time to enter the club of 200 Crore films this weekend. There has been continued interest coming in for the film and now stands at Rs. 186.42 crores after bringing in 3.40 crores on Wednesday. The movie currently ranks as number two for Wednesday despite being second behind 84 for its first week as well – which is completely understandable considering there are no new releases this upcoming weekend that could potentially interfere with these numbers going past their goal of reaching Rs.200 crore worldwide!
On the other hand, Pushpa has been doing well too. It has earned close to Rs. 45 crores so far and is expected to earn even more – as there are no new releases in theaters competing with it. This will help Pushpa increase sales at the single-screen theaters where it’s proving popular – which could give it over Rs. 50 crores within the next 2 or 3 days time period if not sooner than that!
