The film had an impressive opening – exceeding the Rs 50 crores (or $7.8 million) benchmark on it’s first day! As the weekend came to an end, we saw that the movie was still holding steady, earning about 10 crores (or $1.5 million) more than what it made on Day 1. And now even though it’s only been one week since the release of this gem from Bhushan Kumar-Murad Khetani Productions Ltd., its gross earnings are nearing 100 crores (or $14 million)!
Now, after just 8 days since its release, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 has been able to amass Rs. 109.92 cr at the box office. This is enough for it to become one of the films to cross the highly coveted $100 million barrier worldwide! With this massive success, Kiara Advani becomes only 4th actress in India (following closely behind Anushka Sharma and Asin) with an impressive $4 billion USD combined collection from all their movies. And if that isn’t a big enough achievement already, with Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 crossing over the $100 million barrier domestically – Kiara joins Angelina Jolie and Scarlett Johansson as one of only ten actors or actresses worldwide who have been able to do this four times or more!
As of now, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 has been running for over one year with crowds lining up for tickets at each showing. It was released across 3200 screens domestically and is expected to continue its successful run despite new films releasing this week. If it maintains its success, then the film’s cumulative earnings might even come near $150 million in just a single week.
