It was a prosperous day for the movie industry, with both of the movies in contention achieving success. It’s good to see Drishyam 2 maintaining its momentum and increasing its viewership so far; however, we are pleased to say that Bhediya has also been doing well over these last few days and will soon join the other two at an even higher level of success!
The Dinesh Vijan production joins the ranks of films like Stree and Roohi which are already successful under his belt. To keep up with other films’ standards, it was necessary that Bhediya did well too. Clearly someone knew how to invest money wisely because this is one of the most lavishly mounted productions from Maddock Films – aka ‘Stree Productions’. So after opening weekend it’s been doing even better than expected! With over nine crores at just 9.57 crores added on, we can see why Varun Dhawan will continue to be a household name across the country.
For example, Drishyam 2 is doing exceptionally well with its Saturday collections of Rs.14.05 crores. Although we expected it to make a double digit number from the start, we never imagined it would do so well on Friday as it did when only making about Rs.10 crores in revenue yesterday morning – which this movie managed to surpass without difficulty, probably due to its popularity among families who saw it too. Thus far, the film has made Rs.126.58 crores in total income across India and abroad – all while maintaining an average rating of 8/10 on IMDb!
