Varun Dhawan and Kriti Sanon’s Bhediya had a low number of views on its opening day, according to limited samples sent in. Estimates say that it collected somewhere around Rs. 6 to 7 crores which is less than what was needed for the first-day target numbers, even though it wasn’t expected to be high. The true target for this movie should have been at least 10 lakhs as a starting amount and then grow afterwords.
The opening day was not as successful as anticipated because the expectations were much higher. Three of the nationally-known chains collected approximately Rs. 3,250,000 on Friday alone while other less popular stores doubled that amount.
From this point forward, my only goal is to grow on Saturday and Sunday so that I can put up a Monday higher than Friday. This film is perfect for kids who are looking for some humor after school. It has plenty of screens and opportunities to get people through the door; so even if it doesn’t do well right away we’re still in good shape because our audience isn’t going anywhere – we just need to give them time.
