Recently, the Akshay Kumar starrer Bell Bottom released nationwide and has been succeeding pretty well considering the Covid-19 restrictions. This was also the first film to release after India’s second lockdown period that followed soon after this movie came out. Now on its third week running in theaters, it had managed to rake in a further 1.69 crore rupees from this successful run.
Over the third weekend, Bell Bottom brought in Rs. 0.35 crores, Rs. 0.51 crores, and Rs. 0.83 crores on Friday-Sunday respectively– leading to a total of 27 crore until now from three weekends in theatres alone! And it doesn’t seem like this trend is going to die down anytime soon considering there isn’t much competition for it out there (such as major Hindi releases). Commencing its fourth week at theaters this week, trade estimates state that Bell Bottom will reach the 30 crore benchmark before next weekend– if not surpassing it!
This shows how popular this movie has been with audiences who want to see something different from mainstream Indian cinema; which is why they’ve made sure they’ll have multiple platforms available for viewing when they premiere through OTT channels in the coming few weeks after premiering internationally first during Cannes Film Festival’s opening ceremony (which was streamed live).
