Taapsee Pannu returns to the silver screen with her latest thriller, Do Baaraa. The Indian remake of the Spanish film Mirage, helmed by Anurag Kashyap, follows a mystery that spans twenty–six years. Viewers will be taken on a wild ride through this horror thriller genre; exploring time travel theories and bending minds in novel ways. Go see it now at your local theater!
Upon its theatrical release, morning screenings were poorly attended and many had to be cancelled due to an inadequate audience. Despite the anticipation that attendance would surge in the evening, not enough people turned out as anticipated.
With hardly any pre-release bookings and a scarcity of hype surrounding it, the movie’s box office numbers for its opening day are believed to be in the range of Rs. 30-35 lakhs; this is less than what was initially projected, which had been around Rs. 40 to 50 lakhs. This figure mirrors that of Taapsee Pannu’s last release ‘Shabaash Mithu’, which made Rs. 40 lakhs on Day 1 – still significantly below Kangana Ranaut’s ‘Dhaakad’ who garnered Rs. 55 lakhs on their debut.
Despite mixed critical reception, it remains to be seen how this movie performs at the box office in comparison with last week’s two blockbusters Laal Singh Chaddha and Raksha Bandhan which have not been doing so well.
