What an outstanding turn-around it has been for this movie Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior. With the end in sight, it shows no sign of slowing down either, having made Rs. 16.36 crore more this weekend alone! This phenomenal trend makes sense considering how much people love watching this film across India – they’ve become its top priority from day one, and there’s just nothing else coming close to challenging it. This is even though it was released months ago – It’ll soon make its way into the club of movies that cross over Rs. 200 crore!
So far, the film has collected Rs. 145.33 crores and while Rs. 160 crores would be crossed in a jiffy, it needs to also be seen how much ahead of that does it go once the second weekend is over. What makes the film’s success even more special though is the fact that people had originally thought that its target audience was only going to come from Maharashtra due to its regional flare. Even so though – they did end up with good numbers coming out of Mumbai after all; which helped give this movie an edge over other movies competing for attention when looking at total gross profit for this year thus far.
Film critic Bhavesh Parikh of BookMyShow says, The Ajay Devgn and Saif Ali Khan starrer would see an increase in collections today and that will consolidate its status as a blockbuster. This one has come out to be big; now it is just about how high up can it go. Street Dancer and Panga are set for release on the coming Friday which would mean fewer screens for Tanhaai: The Unsung Warrior. If not for that, this one could have soared even higher.
