The premiere day for Bala was tremendous; the earnings reached 10.15 crore. It was assumed that the revenue would exceed 8 crore for a movie of this stature, yet the goal of surpassing 10 crore was exceeded, ultimately producing an impressive 10.15 crore result.
The film has had a fantastic launch, much to the delight of those involved. Ayushmann Khurranna is no stranger to strong box office numbers; Dream Girl debuted with Rs. 10.05 crores in revenue. Bhumi Pednekar was buoyed by the tremendous success of Toilet – Ek Prem Katha and this should prove equally successful for her. Yami Gautam’s inclusion follows on from her part in blockbuster hit Uri – The Surgical Strike earlier this year, another impressive achievement for her.
Producer Dinesh Vijan and director Amar Kaushik have every reason to be ecstatic – their previous venture, Stree, made a massive Rs. 6.82 crores at the box office before raking in Rs. 100 crore as it entered the prestigious ‘100 Crore Club’. Not long after that success came Luka Chuppi from Maddock Films, already established as a hit. And now, with Bala’s stellar performance likely to result in another ‘century’ for the makers, there’s no doubt that they are grinning from ear to ear!
