Arshad Warsi is well aware of the fact that Bachchhan Paandey did not do so great at the Box Office and yet he feels happy about it. On March 18th, when his movie came out – right in the middle of The Kashmir Files’ triumph on Box Office and with SS Rajamouli’s movie RRR releasing a week later – many people wondered if this would affect Bachchhan Paandey. But to those doubters, Arshad laughed and said don’t lie because he knows for sure it isn’t making too much money – despite only being released a few weeks ago. Although his film didn’t do as well as planned, he says it is still doing all right for himself (as long as he covers up).
Further probing about whether it is the OTT effect, he responded No I don’t think it’s the OTT Effect. But then he refused to divulge his thoughts on this matter. When questioned by Hindustan Times at a previous interview, Akshay Kumar revealed that the staggering reception to his movie The Kashmir Files and its success was one of many factors contributing to Bachchan Paandey (daughter).
He said,First off let me tell you I’m ecstatic with the successful release of The Kashmir Files because it tells you how powerful movies can be. There is no formula for having a budget or making them in a certain way so they’re guaranteed successful – it all boils down to audience numbers. Yes – I would have liked Bachchan Paandey (daughter).
Meanwhile, Arshad Warsi will next star in Asur season 2 releasing in June or July 2022.
