Antim: The Final Truth had a great opening day with strong collections and then saw an increase on its second day where the two-day collection totaled in the range of Rs. 5.50 to 6 crores (US $800,000) adding up to just over Rs. 11 crores (US $1.6 million). What’s even better is how well it did through the weekend!
Though there were some minor obstacles here and there, such as fewer screens allotted due to other films being released alongside Antrim, they also proved only minor setbacks that were insignificant enough not to bring down the mood or lessen enthusiasm from audiences everywhere! And after seeing its success over these past few days, we’re left satisfied knowing that so many others felt what we felt; happy about getting exactly what they paid for – if not more!
One must note that the buzz about Antim: The Final Truth is no longer just about it being a Salman Khan movie, but more about it being an Aayush Sharma starring project instead with Salman playing only a minor role for roughly 50 minutes. Despite his limited screen time, there has still been considerable boosts in sales because of Salman’s involvement and making this was undoubtedly a good move.
Now that the movie opened up to the public, we were able to review its performance. The film opened on Friday and made a total of Rs. 17 crores at the box office. This allowed it to score well through Monday, which brought us one step closer to making over Rs 5 crore profit in its lifetime run (Rs 16+5=21). Currently we’re waiting for reviews from experts throughout India and abroad before deciding whether or not this was successful enough; we’ll have to see how other films perform first before making assumptions about profitability here in Antim or any part of Bollywood altogether.
