Alia Bhatt starred, alongside Ranbir Kapoor, in a new movie directed by Ayan Mukherji titled Brahmastra. Opening last week at over 5,000 screens across the country, it took off on an excellent note with strong advance bookings; only increasing its success as it became one of the few Hindi films to reach Rs 300 crore at the box office this year.
This week, we take a look at the film Brahmastra’s performance against other films in Bollywood, Alia Bhatt’s past releases. The movie opened with Rs 170 crore and emerged as India’s highest-grossing opening for Alia. In fact, it surpassed her previous movies such as Thugs Of Hindostan that made Rs 129 crore in its first weekend, Stree which earned Rs 96 crores during its first ten days, Raazi that collected around 41 crores during just 3 days but also saw an impressive growth over the weekend – reaching 78 crores after 8 days; Sui Dhaaga made close to 37 crores during just 4 days. With no major competition from new releases coming up soon, reviews predict that Brahmastra will hit 200 crore within two weeks of release!
