The Akshay Kumar-Katrina Kaif starring Sooryavanshi directed by Rohit Shetty was released a little over one month ago, and since then it has done nothing but succeed at the box office. Despite opening on a stormy note, business increased as the days went on. To make matters even better, this movie which stars Ajay Devgn and Ranveer Singh continues to play in select theaters even though it is also now available for streaming via Netflix.
In this Box Office Report, we examine how Sooryavanshi fared in the Australian Market when contrasted against other films released there; and its performance is nothing short of remarkable. Collecting 1.5 million AUD, it surpassed the collection of Ranveer Singh’s film Simmba (1.49 million AUD), as well as Salman Khan’s Sultan (1.35 million). It also made it onto the list of Top 11 All Time Highest Grossers at the Australian Box Office
Though the release of Sooryavanshi didn’t surpass some other hits like Padmaavat which raked up 3.16 million USD, Dangal which made 2.62 million USD, or Sanju which scooped up 2.4 million USD; it continues to earn from ticket sales to this day.
