Kapil Verma, the director of Rashtra Kavach Om – previously known as Om The Battle Within – admits that there is a feeling of tension and worry in the air ahead of the film’s Friday release, in light of recent movie failures at the box office. Nevertheless, Verma remains confident in their unique selling point; the movie itself, which they firmly believe is of good quality – and that is the most they can do.
Verma has full faith in the action sequences of his film. Aditya Roy Kapur is appearing in a totally new avatar that no one could ever have expected and Sanjana Sanghi, after being seen in the emotional Dil Bechara, is playing a RAW agent in this movie. Both of them are doing things which they have never attempted before. However, Verma is most assured about the story of his movie, believing it is an excellent subject which will attract many viewers.
The success of films like Pushpa, KGF, and RRR has inspired and invigorated Kapil, yet he is cognizant of the fact that not all action films achieve the same success at the box office. His intention with Aditya Roy Kapur’s action scenes in the film is to create organic and meaningful sequences that don’t just involve the hitting and killing of people, but sequences that are embedded within the plot and evoke an emotional response from the audience. Such action sequences have a greater purpose than simply being gratuitous, as they progress the story in meaningful ways.
Kapil expressed his fondness for the trailer of Rocketry featuring Madhavan by saying, “It is a great movie and he is a wonderful actor. Nevertheless, Rashtra Kavach Om is an entirely different genre and an absolutely distinctive experience. Our film is a true masala movie, yet, it is hard to predict the taste of the audience, particularly in the current times.”
Kapil cannot express enough appreciation and admiration for his producer, Ahmed Khan. He extended Kapil the chance to create his own film, offering words of encouragement – “Just go make your movie and don’t take any unnecessary stress.“ Ahmed has been a strong source of support throughout and Kapil hopes for the opportunity to work together again in the future.
