Upon its release, Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui managed to woo audiences up North. The film managed to amass Rs. 14.53 crore in just three days – a good omen for producers who had been expecting the movie to quickly cross over Rs. 15 crore within the first weekend of its release instead of doing what it did and settle for anything less than perfect (so far).
On Sunday, the film brought in Rs. 5.91 crore more and since Friday collections were Rs. 3.75 crore, one now just hopes that Monday is at least Rs. 2.50 crore. The Ayushmann Khurrana and Vaani Kapoor starrer can’t afford to have a regular 50% fall over Friday as it was because it isn’t even close to being high enough yet – on top of that, Spider-Man: No Way Home releases this Thursday itself, which means there will be less money from viewers looking elsewhere for entertainment so each day becomes more crucial than ever before for films already playing!
This is the reason why even Tadap needs to collect the best that it can in this short time period. Even so, all things considered, as of now – including today – the film has collected Rs. 24.80 crore after taking home another Rs. 1.50 crore yesterday alone. The Ahan Shetty and Tara Sutaria-starrer managed to remain competitive right through the weekend and while earnings weren’t huge by any means, they still remained over Rs. 1 crore each day thus far which was a little less than expected but still acceptable considering everything else went well enough for them so far.
Note: All collections as per production and distribution sources
