One of the world’s most well-known car manufacturers is Jaguar Land Rover, who produces a number of lines including Range Rover, Range Rover Sport, Range Rover Velar and Range Rover Evoque. Commonly referred to as Velar or Evoque, these two models are shortened versions of what we know best as the classic Range Rover.
The existing system has always been confusing, though it is understandable considering Land Rover’s history. The first Land Rover was launched in 1948 as part of the now defunct Rover Company – this new version will be known simply as Land Rover. However, just four years later, Rover faced bankruptcy and had to combine with British Leyland (BL) to form the holding company Rover-Triumph. Yet soon after that merger, BL fell apart and was made publically owned. From here, Land Rover became its own separate entity again – finally free from any problems relating back to BL.
For a short time, British Leyland became Rover Group under the leadership of BMW. Their company was renamed back to Rover in 1988 before it went private for good and adopted the brand name Rover. In 1994, BMW sold British Leyland (as it had come to be known) to Ford, who also purchased Jaguar at that time. Ford then merged Land Rover and Jaguar- creating an entity called Jaguar Land Rovers Ltd – only ten years later when they were sold off again in 2008, this time to Tata Motors.
Range Rovers were initially just off-roading vehicles before they became the pricey four wheeled luxury goods we see today. Despite this, however, most Range Rovers are still extremely capable off-roaders.

The Company Behind Land Rover
Started in 1948, this British company that manufactures the famous Land Rover has continued to grow steadily over time. After inspiration from World War II cars, they began producing more robust off-road vehicles for consumers all over the world looking for a reliable product built with careful attention given to every detail.
Throughout its existence, the company made what are considered icons of motoring history in the form of Series cars – I, II, IIA, IIB, and III – and the Defender in two-door and four-door variants. More recently they have branched out into new areas too with Freelander rebranded as LR2 in the second generation. But not only has this manufacturer manufactured automotive icons such as Range Rover or Land Rover; they also manufacture other prestigious makes under different names such as Range Rover Evoque or even Range Rover Velar for example.
The car manufacturer never ventured out on its own and belonged to larger corporations throughout its lifespan. At one time, it was under ownership of Leyland Corporation before being sold off by British Leyland in 1975. Afterwards, BMV and Ford briefly grabbed the opportunity for partnership until this company eventually became a subsidiary of Tata Motors.

Conclusion
When it comes to cars, just like clothing or any other object, it all depends on what you prefer. Both vehicles do well in off-road terrains but each has its own set of additional options and features. If we had to give an opinion though, it would come down to the way you want to use the car; afterall, they’re both equally good at doing what they were designed for.
Range Rovers are cheaper, can fit in more passengers, and, all in all, are well-suited for family road trips. If you start having problems with the vehicle, driving to the nearest auto shop will not be as costly as with Range Rovers. These luxury SUVs should mostly remain within city limits, where a sharp rock or animal would pose no threat to one’s wallet – unlike if one were out on a backcountry dirt road.
