This past Saturday, the production of Brahmastra raked in an astounding 121 crore rupees within its opening weekend, making it one of India’s top box office records. Early projections suggest that the projected growth on Monday is still optimistic–at 14 to 16 lakhs rupees, in comparison to its collections recorded throughout Thursday (Rs 144) and Friday (Rs 146). With this increased momentum within five days of release, there is no denying how fast this film will hit the Rs. 150 million mark – entering into only three other movies’ territory since Ranbir Kapoor began his career with leading roles decades ago.
Now we’re looking at 145 crore rupees as opposed to 141 before today – a difference which translates roughly to 50 crores extra within 6 weeks since release date; or 10% higher than Friday’s rate when compared alongside big cinema screens nationwide where costs are more expensive while investment yields lower return.
Thanks to its powerful opening weekend, Brahmastra has now reached the Rs. 175 crore club within seven days and is nearing the Rs. 200 crore club at a quick pace. As of yet, these numbers are only estimates but it’s likely that they’ll be accurate to some degree depending on how many screenings there have been up until this point. So far, the performance has been very positive; which means more sequels may not take as long as previously anticipated! Outside of India, there’s even been signs of success in foreign markets – which only goes to show just how much people love this movie!
