As predicted, KGF2 has enjoyed an auspicious beginning at the box office in Hindi markets. Early estimates show that it may have earned around Rs. 48.50 to 51.50 Crores on its first day of release (or opening). This is likely to put it in contention for being the highest opener ever in Hindi-speaking territories–and we’ll know for sure once numbers are compiled from smaller centres which were also operating near maximum capacity during its first day of release. KGF2 even managed this against a blockbuster featuring two action stars–Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff–despite only minimally exhibiting itself in Southern territories!
Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Kerala were able to set themselves apart from other regions with their own variations of what they could offer. In relation to how it compares to War, KGF 2 overtook the number of viewers that went out during the first day of release. If anything slightly less was spent than was expected because there were no people in the South Indian region; then this wasn’t a problem at all for Yash who has established himself as one of India’s best actors alongside Prabhas and Allu Arjun.
This is something unprecedented with records being broken in almost every major Hindi territory. Most talks are good which means that this film will earn up to Rs160-175 crore before its run ends on Sunday night! Advance bookings for tomorrow indicate a huge return is coming – once again proving that not only is the English version important but also key to making these records worth celebrating.
Speaking about Baahubali 2, KGF has surpassed the opening day collections of Baahubali 2 by a considerable amount to become the biggest opener among all southern films dubbed in Hindi.
