Last week, the newest addition to our box offices had come out and new movies were hitting every single day but still here comes KGF Chapter 2 shining strong. Even though it came out long time ago (5 weeks ago) it’s managing to stay on top and looking like this movie will pass up other films. Recently it became one of only five films ever that have made such a big sum of money in their fifth week at the box office – so what does that mean?
Let’s put things into perspective by giving you an idea about how much these other films have accumulated thus far – 3 Idiots topped out around 10 crores so did Dangal for 8 crores, Kabir Singh for about 10 crores, Badhaai Ho for 12 crores and Padmaavat last year with 7 crore rupees! This means if chapter 1 is just half as popular when they release part 3 next year they’ll probably go ahead and break some records!
On the one hand, for instance, this recent week of KGF-Chapter 2 has not been able to reach these levels and has actually managed just about half what it ought to have. With only Rs. 18.90 crores given out so far from sales in India, when compared with some other big names like Uri: The Surgical Strike which managed to make Rs. 18 crores or even RRR which earned a total of 12.15 crores over the first five weeks alone – it becomes clear how much this film failed domestically with barely anything else coming out right now; there’s no telling what kind of influence that may have on its current status as far as box office revenues are concerned going forward after two upcoming new releases hit theaters next week respectively.
